things i am obsessing over

some of you know me in real life and some of you don't. for those of you that know me, you are aware of (and possibly annoyed with) my obsessive nature. i find something i like and i will suck the life out of it until it bores me and then i toss it aside. i've accumulated half-assed collections of things and thoughts and hobbies from this trait. an example that comes to mind is my shortlived handball playing.

just to be clear, to be considered an obsession in my world, it must comply to one of the following criteria: i have to spend hours on the web learning about it, finding it, or purchasing it; i have spent too much money or too much time on it to the point where it interferes with other things in my life; it is something that i do in private (usually); i think about it at least once a day.

so, with that self-analysis in mind, these are the things i am obsessing over right now:

1. scott pilgrim
2. listening to film school
3. making postcards, sending postcards, receiving postcards (thx postcardx.net)
4. moving to another country
5. holga photography
6. playing online chess at gameknot.com
7. building to most expensive wish list at marsimport.com (comic online store)
8. myspace (i'm working on this one)
9. the state of my truck and whether it can get me to work (i dream about this pretty regularly and often times wake up in a state of panic or excessive sweating)
10. being "artsy" which has resulted in new materials including watercolors, oil pastels and charcoal
11. my years-long obsession with paper, particularly the handmade varieties
12. planning my first t-shirt creation with the help of a myspace friend (jasmine muslim girl)
